Which character is played by Karl Urban in The Boys?

Karl Urban plays Billy Butcher in The Boys.

Butcher is the ruthless leader of the vigilante group called the Boys. A former SAS operative with a deep hatred of superpowered people, he recruits Hughie Campbell after Hughie’s girlfriend Robin is accidentally killed by A-Train. Butcher’s campaign is driven by his belief that Vought’s celebrity superheroes are dangerous, corrupt, and protected by corporate power.

Urban’s performance gives the character a distinctive combination of menace, dark humor, and emotional volatility. In the television adaptation, Butcher initially believes that Homelander raped his wife, Becca, and that she died afterward. The truth about Becca, Ryan, and Vought’s involvement becomes one of the show’s central long-running mysteries.

The wrong options are other important characters: Jensen Ackles plays Soldier Boy, Tomer Capone plays Frenchie, and Jack Quaid plays Hughie Campbell. Billy Butcher’s full name is William J. Butcher, but “Billy Butcher” is the standard canonical answer used for the character.
