Which character does Justin Timberlake voice in Shrek the Third?

The story behind the answer

Justin Timberlake voices Arthur Pendragon in Shrek the Third.

Arthur, usually called Artie, is a teenage student at Worcestershire Academy and the reluctant heir to the throne of Far Far Away. After King Harold’s death, Shrek searches for him because Shrek does not want to become king himself.

Artie begins the film as an unpopular and insecure pupil. His journey with Shrek, Donkey, and Puss in Boots gradually helps him accept responsibility and become a more confident leader. The character is loosely connected to the legendary King Arthur tradition, although the film gives him a modern school-age personality.

Justin Timberlake was already internationally known as a singer and actor when he joined the voice cast. The role is sometimes confused with Prince Charming, who is voiced by Rupert Everett and serves as the principal antagonist in the film.
