Waluigi debuted as a playable Mario Party character alongside Princess Daisy in Mario Party 3.
Mario Party 3, released for Nintendo 64 in 2000 in Japan and 2001 elsewhere, expanded the established roster with both characters. Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Wario, and Donkey Kong returned from the first two games, making eight playable characters in total.
A common mix-up is that Daisy and Waluigi are unavailable in Mario Party 3’s Story Mode, so players may remember them as opponents rather than selectable characters there. They can be used in the game’s other modes, including Battle Royale and Duel Map play.
Waluigi’s arrival was especially notable because this was his first appearance in the Mario Party series. Both characters went on to become regular playable choices in later Mario Party titles, although their availability and roles have varied across installments.
