Which CEO co-founded Apple Inc. and served as its CEO?
Answer
Steve Jobs
Answer
Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs co-founded Apple Inc. and served as its CEO. He and Steve Wozniak founded Apple Computer Company in 1976, with Ronald Wayne briefly involved as a third co-founder.
Jobs helped turn Wozniak’s technical work on the Apple I into a business. Apple’s Apple II became one of the first highly successful mass-produced personal computers, while the Macintosh later popularized graphical user interfaces for mainstream users.
Jobs left Apple in 1985 after a power struggle, founded NeXT, and bought Pixar. Apple acquired NeXT in 1997, bringing Jobs back as CEO. During his second tenure, Apple introduced products including the iMac, iPod, iPhone, and iPad.
A common mix-up is Steve Wozniak, who also co-founded Apple and designed much of the Apple I and Apple II. Wozniak was the principal engineer; Jobs was the business and product visionary. Tim Cook became Apple’s CEO after Jobs resigned in 2011.
