Which cathedral in Málaga is nicknamed La Manquita because one tower remains unfinished?

The story behind the answer

Málaga Cathedral is nicknamed La Manquita because one tower remains unfinished.

La Manquita means “the one-armed lady,” a reference to the cathedral’s incomplete south tower. The building was designed with two prominent towers, but the southern tower was never completed, giving the façade its distinctive asymmetrical appearance.

Construction began in the 16th century on the site of an earlier mosque after the Christian conquest of Málaga. Work continued through later centuries, and the cathedral combines Renaissance planning with Baroque elements and other modifications.

The unfinished tower is not the result of a medieval collapse. Financial limitations and disputed use of construction funds are commonly cited in accounts of why work stopped, though the exact historical explanation is more complicated than the nickname suggests. The cathedral is dedicated to the Incarnation and is formally known as the Cathedral of the Incarnation.
