Which cathedral contains the tomb of Christopher Columbus?

Seville Cathedral contains the tomb of Christopher Columbus.

The monument is located inside the cathedral and was created by the sculptor Arturo Mélida. It shows four heraldic figures representing the historic kingdoms of León, Castile, Aragon, and Navarre carrying Columbus’s coffin. The tomb was installed in Seville in the late nineteenth century after Columbus’s remains had been moved through several locations.

Columbus died in Valladolid in 1506. His remains were later transferred to Seville, then to the Caribbean, and eventually returned to Spain after the loss of Spanish control over Santo Domingo. Seville Cathedral became their current symbolic resting place, although debates about the identity and history of the remains have continued.

The cathedral is one of the largest Gothic churches in the world. It incorporates the former Almohad mosque’s minaret, known as La Giralda, which was converted into a bell tower.
