Which Canadian television series is the Canadian adaptation of Dragon's Den?

The story behind the answer

Dragons' Den is the Canadian television adaptation of the Dragon's Den business-pitch format.

The Canadian series premiered on CBC Television in 2006. Like the British programme, it features entrepreneurs presenting companies or ideas to a panel of investors, known in the Canadian version as dragons. The panel questions contestants about their products, finances, valuation and proposed deal.

The Canadian title uses the plural possessive spelling “Dragons' Den”, while the British title is commonly styled “Dragons' Den” as well in modern usage. The distinction is usually made through the country or broadcaster rather than through a completely different title.

The format's international spread demonstrates how a simple pitch-and-negotiation structure can be adapted to local businesses and personalities. Canadian episodes therefore contain different investors and entrepreneurs from the British programme, even though the central rules are closely related.
