Which Canadian broadcaster launched the Canadian version of Dragon's Den in 2006?

The story behind the answer

CBC launched the Canadian version of Dragon's Den in 2006.

The Canadian edition of Dragon's Den premiered on CBC, the country's public broadcaster. It adapted the established investment-pitch format for Canadian entrepreneurs, who presented companies and products to a panel of Canadian business investors known as Dragons.

The series gave the format a distinct national setting while retaining its core rules: entrepreneurs sought money and expertise, and the investors evaluated the proposal, valuation and ownership offered. The Canadian programme became one of the format's prominent international versions.

CBC can be confused with CTV, Global or Citytv because all are major Canadian television brands. They are separate broadcasters. The year 2006 also helps distinguish the Canadian launch from the British programme's 2005 debut and the American Shark Tank's 2009 premiere.
