CBC has aired the Canadian television programme Dragons' Den since its 2006 debut.
The series is a CBC reality business programme in which entrepreneurs present companies and products to a panel of Canadian investors. The broadcaster's full name is the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, but CBC is the standard short answer used for the network.
This fact is sometimes muddled with the British version, which is associated with the BBC, or with other international adaptations carried by commercial networks. Canadian Dragons' Den belongs to the CBC television schedule and became one of the broadcaster's best-known unscripted franchises.
The programme's first Canadian season arrived in 2006, one year after the British version began. Although the format, title and broad pitch structure are shared internationally, the Canadian edition has its own host, investor panel and local entrepreneurs. Identifying the broadcaster therefore distinguishes the Canadian production from the BBC's British Dragon's Den.
