Calvin Klein’s landmark unisex fragrance launched in 1994 is CK One.
CK One was created by perfumers Alberto Morillas and Harry Fremont for Calvin Klein. Its deliberately shared-gender positioning reflected the minimalist, casual style associated with the brand during the 1990s. The clear bottle and simple label reinforced that uncomplicated design language.
The fragrance is a citrus aromatic scent, with notes commonly associated with bergamot, cardamom, pineapple, green tea, jasmine, violet, musk, and amber. It was marketed to men and women rather than divided into separate masculine and feminine versions.
A common mix-up is confusing CK One with Calvin Klein’s Eternity or Obsession. Those are also major Calvin Klein fragrances, but CK One is the release specifically associated with the brand’s influential 1990s unisex campaign. Its success helped make unisex fragrance marketing more visible in mainstream perfumery.
