Rachel Elnaugh became the first female Dragon to appear on the British television series Dragon's Den.
Elnaugh was part of the original investment panel when the BBC series launched in 2005. She was known for building Red Letter Days, a company selling experience gifts such as driving experiences, hotel stays and leisure activities.
Her presence made her the programme's first woman investor. She appeared during the first two series, alongside original Dragons including Peter Jones and Duncan Bannatyne. After she left, later female Dragons such as Deborah Meaden, Hilary Devey and Sara Davies joined the show.
A common mix-up is to identify Deborah Meaden as the first female Dragon because she became the programme's longest-running and most familiar female investor. Meaden joined later, in series 3, so Elnaugh holds the distinction of being the first woman on the British panel.
