Peter Jones was the only original Dragon to remain continuously on the UK Dragon's Den panel from the first series.
Jones appeared in the programme's inaugural 2005 series with Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Simon Woodroffe and Doug Richard. The other original investors eventually left, while Jones continued to assess pitches and make investments across later series.
His business interests have included technology, media, telecommunications, retail and leisure. That broad commercial background has allowed him to consider proposals ranging from consumer goods to software and branded products.
The wording “original Dragon” refers to the first British panel, not every investor who appeared during the programme's history. Later Dragons such as Deborah Meaden, Theo Paphitis and Sara Davies joined after the debut series, so they cannot be the answer even though some became familiar regulars.
