Which business did Dragon's Den investor Duncan Bannatyne establish in the care-home sector?

The story behind the answer

Dragon's Den investor Duncan Bannatyne established Quality Care Homes in the care-home sector.

Bannatyne built a group of businesses across care homes, health clubs, hotels and other industries. Quality Care Homes formed part of his early business expansion and focused on residential care for older people.

His wider business career began with ventures including an ice-cream business and later nursing homes. He became nationally recognised through Dragon's Den, where his direct questioning and interest in the figures behind a proposal made him a prominent member of the panel.

Quality Care Homes is distinct from large care providers such as Barchester Healthcare, Four Seasons Health Care and Care UK. Those names are all associated with British social care, but they are not the care-home business established by Bannatyne.
