Which broadcaster originally presented the first series of the British television programme Dragon's Den?

The story behind the answer

Adrian Chiles originally presented the first series of the British television programme Dragon's Den.

Chiles hosted the programme when it launched in 2005, introducing entrepreneurs and guiding viewers through the negotiations with the investors. His role was separate from that of the business experts seated in the den.

Evan Davis later became closely associated with the programme and presented it for many years. That later association can make him seem like the original presenter, but Chiles hosted the debut series.

Dragon's Den has had a changing presentation team while retaining its central format: entrepreneurs explain their businesses, answer questions and attempt to secure an offer from one or more investors.
