BBC Two has aired the UK version of Dragon's Den since its launch.
The programme premiered on BBC Two in 2005 and was created as a British adaptation of an established international business format. Its central setup is simple: entrepreneurs enter a studio, pitch a product or company, and answer detailed questions from investors about sales, valuation and ownership.
BBC Two is the channel most strongly associated with the series, even though individual specials, related programmes and online clips have also appeared elsewhere in the BBC ecosystem. The main series remains a BBC business and entertainment programme rather than a traditional news or documentary production.
A common mix-up is to identify BBC One as the show's original home because the series became widely known across the United Kingdom. BBC One and BBC Two are separate BBC channels; the Dragon's Den series began on BBC Two.
