Answer
The Damned
Which British punk band released the debut album Damned Damned Damned? The Damned released Damned Damned Damned.
Issued by Stiff Records on 18 February 1977, the album was the debut studio record by the English punk band The Damned. It is widely recognized as the first album released by a UK punk group, making it a landmark in British punk history. The record reached No. 34 on the UK Albums Chart.
Nick Lowe produced the album after previously working with the band on their single “New Rose.” Recording took place at Pathway Studios in London between September 1976 and January 1977. The original lineup featured Dave Vanian, Brian James, Captain Sensible, and Rat Scabies.
The title and cover reflected The Damned’s deliberately chaotic humor: the musicians were photographed after being hit with cream pies. The album is sometimes confused with later influential releases by the Sex Pistols or The Clash, but neither band released this record. The Damned followed it with Music for Pleasure later in 1977.
