Which British inventor created the Tangle Teezer after appearing on Dragon's Den?
Answer
Shaun Pulfrey
Answer
Shaun Pulfrey
Shaun Pulfrey created the Tangle Teezer after appearing on the British programme Dragon's Den.
Pulfrey, a hairdresser and inventor, developed a brush designed to detangle hair while reducing pulling and breakage. He presented an early version of the product on Dragon's Den, where the Dragons did not invest.
Despite the unsuccessful pitch, the product found a market after further development and direct sales. Tangle Teezer later became an international hair-care brand, showing that appearing on the programme does not guarantee that a business needs a Dragon's investment to succeed.
The story is often confused with successful Dragon-backed products because it is one of the show's frequently cited “rejected but successful” examples. Its creator, however, was Shaun Pulfrey, not a Dragon or another well-known British inventor.
