Peter Jones is the only original Dragons' Den investor to have appeared in every series of the UK programme.
Jones joined the original panel when the BBC launched Dragons' Den in 2005. He is a British entrepreneur and investor whose business interests have included technology, media, retail and property. His continued presence made him the longest-serving member of the original group.
The other original Dragons were Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Simon Woodroffe and Doug Richard. They did not all remain for the entire run. Because the programme has introduced many later investors, viewers can sometimes assume that another long-running Dragon was also present from the beginning.
Jones’s role has extended beyond simply offering money. Like the other Dragons, he evaluates a company’s prospects and negotiates its valuation and equity. His continuing participation provides a link between the launch-era format and later generations of the programme.
