Peter Jones is the only original Dragon still investing on Dragon's Den.
Jones is a British entrepreneur and businessman whose interests have included technology, telecommunications, media and retail. He joined the original Dragon's Den panel when the British series launched and remained a recurring investor as the lineup changed over the years.
The wording “original Dragon” refers to the investors who appeared in the first British series, not to every investor who has ever appeared. The early panel included Jones, Duncan Bannatyne, Deborah Meaden, Rachel Elnaugh and Simon Woodroffe. Several of those investors later left, while Jones continued in the programme.
Being a Dragon is only one part of Jones's business career. He has also been associated with the Peter Jones Foundation and with investments in entrepreneurial ventures. He is often recognised on screen for asking detailed questions about valuation, sales and the route to scale.
