Rob Law invented the Trunki children's ride-on suitcase featured on Dragons' Den.
Law is a British product designer and entrepreneur who developed Trunki as luggage that children could ride or sit on while travelling. The product was designed to make journeys easier for families by combining the functions of a small suitcase and a ride-on toy.
The Trunki pitch became especially notable because Law did not accept an investment deal from the dragons. Despite the rejection, the product went on to become commercially successful and won design recognition. Its story is frequently cited as a reminder that a television rejection does not necessarily determine a product's long-term prospects.
A common mix-up is to identify Trunki only as a children's suitcase or only as a toy. Its distinctive selling point is the combination: it is carry-on-style children's luggage designed to be ridden when appropriate.
