Simon Woodroffe founded the Yo! brand and became an original Dragon's Den investor.
Woodroffe created the Yo! brand, best known initially through Yo! Sushi, and brought that entrepreneurial experience to the first British Dragon's Den panel. Yo! Sushi became known for its kaiten, or conveyor-belt, service model, which presented Japanese food in a distinctive self-service format.
Woodroffe's time as a Dragon was relatively brief compared with some later investors, which can lead to confusion about whether he belonged to the original lineup. He did: he appeared in the first series alongside Duncan Bannatyne, Peter Jones, Rachel Elnaugh and Doug Richard. Theo Paphitis joined after Woodroffe left, so the two are associated with different early panels.
