Rachel Elnaugh founded Red Letter Days and became an original investor on the British programme Dragons' Den.
Red Letter Days sold experience gifts, such as activities and outings presented as alternatives to conventional physical presents. Elnaugh built the company into a recognizable brand and later joined the initial Dragons' Den investor line-up when the British version launched.
Her business history gave her direct experience of building a consumer-facing company, managing growth, and dealing with commercial risk. Those subjects recur throughout the programme, where entrepreneurs must defend their sales figures, margins, valuation, and plans for expansion.
Elnaugh’s tenure should not be confused with that of Deborah Meaden, who became one of the programme’s most prominent later dragons. Kelly Hoppen and Sara Davies also joined in later periods. The combination of Red Letter Days and original-panel membership uniquely identifies Rachel Elnaugh.
