Peter Jones was the only original dragon still on the panel in Dragon's Den's 2023 series.
Jones joined the original British panel when the programme began in 2005 and remained a regular investor as the line-up changed. The 2023 series introduced Steven Bartlett, but Jones was the sole member of the original panel still serving as a dragon at that point.
Jones is a technology and telecommunications entrepreneur whose business interests have included mobile communications, media, property and retail. His long tenure made him one of the programme's most recognisable investors and provided continuity across successive generations of dragons.
The wording refers to the original panel, not to every investor who had appeared by 2023. Several well-known dragons had joined after the first series, including Deborah Meaden, Sara Davies and Touker Suleyman. Their presence in later line-ups does not make them original dragons.
