Sara Davies founded the stationery and craft company Crafter's Companion in 2005.
Davies started the business while she was a student at the University of York. Her first major product was an envelope-making tool designed to help crafters produce envelopes for handmade cards. The idea developed into a wider craft-products company selling tools, materials and related supplies.
Crafter's Companion grew from a small student venture into an international craft brand. Davies remained closely involved in the company while also becoming a television personality and entrepreneur.
She joined the British Dragons' Den panel in 2019. This fact is sometimes confused with the identities of other Dragons who founded or led consumer businesses, including Deborah Meaden and Rachel Elnaugh. Crafter's Companion is specifically associated with Davies, and the company’s origin predates her television appearance by more than a decade.
