Rob Law pitched the travel product Trunki to the investors on the British programme Dragons' Den.
Law designed Trunki, a ride-on suitcase intended for young children travelling through airports and other transport settings. He presented the product on Dragons' Den while seeking investment to expand the business.
The pitch became well known because Law did not secure a deal from the Dragons. The product nevertheless went on to become a successful British children’s travel brand, showing why an on-screen rejection does not necessarily determine a company’s later performance.
Trunki is often confused with an ordinary wheeled suitcase. Its distinctive feature is that children can sit on it and ride along while an adult pulls it. Rob Law is the founder and designer associated with the product; he is not the same person as later entrepreneurs who pitched other travel or luggage inventions on the programme.
