Peter Jones was the only original Dragon to remain on Dragon's Den continuously from series 1.
Jones joined the original panel when the BBC programme began in 2005. He became one of its most recognisable investors, known for examining sales figures, margins, ownership percentages and the scalability of a proposed business.
The original panel included Jones, Duncan Bannatyne, Rachel Elnaugh, Simon Woodroffe and Doug Richard. Several of those investors later left, while other businesspeople joined in subsequent series, changing the panel's composition over time.
Jones's uninterrupted presence is why viewers sometimes assume he was the programme's creator or sole permanent investor. He was not the only long-serving dragon, but he is the member associated with every series from the show's beginning.
