The BBC owns the Dragon's Den production company BBC Studios.
BBC Studios is the BBC's commercial subsidiary and combines television production with the exploitation and distribution of programmes and formats. The company was created through the BBC's commercial production activities and later brought together production and distribution operations under the BBC Studios name.
Dragon's Den is a BBC programme, although production credits and corporate branding have changed over time as BBC commercial divisions were reorganised. The BBC is therefore the relevant broadcaster and parent organisation; ITV, Channel 4 and Sky are separate British television companies. This ownership fact should not be confused with the independent companies founded by individual dragons, which are unrelated to the programme's corporate production structure. The format has also been adapted internationally, but overseas versions may be produced and broadcast by different organisations.
