Which British actor played Mr. Bean in both theatrical films?

Rowan Atkinson played Mr. Bean in both theatrical films.

Atkinson portrayed the character in Bean: The Ultimate Disaster Movie, released in 1997, and Mr. Bean’s Holiday, released in 2007. These films extended the television character into larger stories while keeping his distinctive clothing, Mini, expressions, and largely nonverbal comic style.

Atkinson had already made Mr. Bean famous through the original British television series, which began in 1990. His performance depends heavily on precise physical timing and facial reactions, allowing the character to work across language barriers.

The films feature different supporting casts and plots, but the central role remained Atkinson’s. This is distinct from the animated series, where Atkinson also voiced Bean, making him the performer most consistently associated with the character across formats.
