Scrapper, Mrs. Wicket’s pet in Mr. Bean: The Animated Series, is a cat.
Scrapper is the pet cat of Mrs. Wicket, Mr. Bean’s landlady. The animal is a recurring animated character and frequently becomes involved in the disputes and accidents surrounding Bean’s attempts to solve simple problems. Scrapper’s presence adds another source of movement and reaction to stories that already rely on visual comedy.
The cat also helps define the animated series’ expanded household setting. In the live-action program, Bean’s world is comparatively sparse and often built around temporary encounters. The cartoon introduces a more consistent home environment, with Mrs. Wicket and Scrapper returning across episodes.
Scrapper is easy to confuse with Mr. Bean’s teddy bear, Teddy, because both are recurring companions in the wider franchise. They are different: Teddy is Bean’s stuffed bear, while Scrapper is Mrs. Wicket’s living pet. The name and animal belong specifically to the animated series’ supporting cast.
