BrewDog's founders appeared on Dragon's Den before building an international craft-beer brand.
BrewDog was founded in Scotland by James Watt and Martin Dickie. The company began as a small craft brewery and became associated with strongly flavoured beers, inventive marketing and a challenge to established brewing conventions. Watt and Dickie appeared on Dragon's Den seeking investment, but they did not complete a deal with the Dragons.
The business continued to expand after the broadcast. BrewDog later used methods including crowdfunding to involve customers and supporters in the company's growth. Its beers, bars and brewery operations helped make the company one of the most internationally recognised names in the modern UK craft-beer movement.
The programme appearance is sometimes remembered as a Dragon's Den success story, but the important distinction is that BrewDog's founders did not receive a completed investment from the panel. Their later growth came through other financing and expansion routes.
