BrewDog was founded by James Watt and Martin Dickie, who appeared on Dragon's Den.
The Scottish craft brewery was established in 2007 by Watt and Dickie in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire. The founders became associated with strongly flavoured and high-strength beers, helping bring modern craft-brewing ideas to a wider British audience.
Watt and Dickie appeared on Dragon's Den in 2009 seeking investment. The Dragons did not make a deal with them. BrewDog nevertheless expanded substantially and became one of the most recognisable independent beer brands in the United Kingdom.
BrewDog is a brewery and pub company, not the name of one of its individual beers. Its television appearance is also separate from later crowdfunding campaigns, including the company’s “Equity for Punks” programme, which allowed members of the public to invest.
