Which Borneo mountain range contains Mount Kinabalu, the island's highest mountain?

The Borneo mountain range containing Mount Kinabalu is the Crocker Range, also called the Crocker Mountains.

The range lies in Sabah, Malaysia, and separates Sabah’s West Coast and Interior divisions. Mount Kinabalu rises to 4,095 metres and is the highest mountain on Borneo, as well as Malaysia’s highest mountain. The name “Crocker Range” is widely used, while “Crocker Mountains” is the current title of the corresponding English Wikipedia article.

The range consists largely of uplifted and folded sedimentary rocks, including sandstones and shales. Its forests are exceptionally biodiverse, supporting endemic plants, animals and insects. Kinabalu Park, established in 1964, protects the mountain and surrounding ecosystems and became Malaysia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Crocker Range National Park, gazetted in 1984, protects a separate section of the wider range farther south. The distractors belong to other regions: the Barisan Mountains are in Sumatra, the Titiwangsa Range runs along Peninsular Malaysia, and the Sudirman Range is in Indonesian New Guinea.
