Genesis contains the main biblical account of Noah’s Ark and the Flood.
The narrative appears primarily in Genesis chapters 6 through 9. These chapters describe humanity’s corruption, Noah’s favor with God, the Ark’s construction, the animals entering it, the Flood, the birds Noah sends out, his landing, and the covenant marked by the rainbow.
The story is part of Genesis, the first book of the Hebrew Bible and the Christian Old Testament. Genesis also contains the Creation accounts, the stories of Adam and Eve, the patriarchs, and the early family history that leads toward Abraham.
Other biblical books refer to Noah, but they do not contain the main Ark narrative. For example, Ezekiel, Isaiah, and the New Testament mention Noah in different theological contexts. Those references are not substitutes for the detailed account in Genesis. The most specific biblical source for the Ark story is therefore the Genesis flood narrative.
