Which book is the final volume in C.S. Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia?

The story behind the answer

The Last Battle is the final volume in C.S. Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia.

Published in 1956, The Last Battle concludes the Narnia story with a conflict involving deception, the fall of Narnia, and the fate of its inhabitants. It won the Carnegie Medal in 1957, one of the most important British children’s book awards.

The publication order and the internal chronological order of the Narnia books differ. The Last Battle is seventh by publication and also concludes the fictional history when the books are read chronologically. It is sometimes confused with The Silver Chair, which is the penultimate book in publication order.
