B’Day includes Beyoncé’s song “Irreplaceable.”
B’Day is Beyoncé’s second solo studio album, released in September 2006. Its title refers to Beyoncé’s birthday and also echoes the word “birthday,” reflecting the album’s creation around her 25th birthday. The record combines contemporary R&B, pop, funk, and hip-hop influences.
“Irreplaceable” was written by Beyoncé, Ne-Yo, Mikkel S. Eriksen, Tor Hermansen, Espen Lind, and Amund Bjørklund. Ne-Yo helped shape the song, but Beyoncé’s recording became one of the album’s most recognizable hits. Its opening line, “To the left,” became especially associated with the track.
B’Day also includes “Déjà Vu,” featuring Jay-Z, and “Beautiful Liar,” a duet with Shakira on a later deluxe edition. Because Beyoncé has several albums built around major singles, “Irreplaceable” is sometimes incorrectly linked with Dangerously in Love, her debut solo album.
