Cowboy Carter became the first album by a Black woman to reach number one on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart.
Beyoncé released Cowboy Carter on March 29, 2024, as her eighth studio album. It explores country, Americana, rock, blues, and related musical traditions while featuring collaborations with artists including Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, and Dolly Parton.
The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and also topped the country albums chart. Its chart performance followed the singles “Texas Hold 'Em” and “16 Carriages,” with “Texas Hold 'Em” making Beyoncé the first Black woman to top Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart.
The title is often shortened to Cowboy Carter, although the album was officially styled COWBOY CARTER. It is the second installment in Beyoncé's planned trilogy, following Renaissance, which was released in 2022.
