Which Beach Boys album from 1965 features the song 'California Girls'?

The Beach Boys album from 1965 that features “California Girls” is Summer Days (And Summer Nights!!). The album was released by Capitol Records on July 5, 1965, with “California Girls” opening its second side.

Written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love, “California Girls” combined an international romantic idea with the band’s signature West Coast sound. The song praises women from different regions before returning to the group’s affection for California. Brian Wilson produced the recording, which became one of the Beach Boys’ defining mid-1960s hits.

The song was also issued as a single on July 12, 1965, backed by “Let Him Run Wild,” and reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. The main mix-up is with The Beach Boys Today!, the album released earlier in 1965, and Pet Sounds, released in 1966. “California Girls” belongs to the transitional Summer Days album, which balanced Capitol’s demand for commercial hits with Brian Wilson’s increasingly sophisticated arrangements.
