The UK series Dragon's Den originally broadcast on BBC Two before moving to BBC One.
The programme launched on BBC Two in January 2005. Its early home placed the series among the channel's factual, documentary and specialist-interest programming, while its unusual combination of business advice and high-stakes negotiation helped it attract a much wider audience.
The show later moved to BBC One, the BBC's main general-interest channel. That change reflected its growing popularity and national profile. The move did not alter the basic rules: entrepreneurs still had to pitch their businesses, state how much money they wanted and offer a share of the company.
BBC Two should not be confused with BBC Three or BBC Four, which have different programming histories and target audiences. The UK version also differs from international productions, which may use different broadcasters, panel members and local currencies while retaining the same investment-pitch premise.
