BBC Two originally broadcast the British television show Dragon's Den.
The programme launched on BBC Two in January 2005, placing business pitches and entrepreneurial stories within the channel's factual and documentary-oriented schedule. Its premise combined practical business discussion with the suspense of a negotiation.
The show later became important enough to receive a prominent place in the BBC's wider television output, but BBC Two is the channel associated with its original British broadcast. This is distinct from the channel histories of international adaptations, which were made for their own national broadcasters.
The channel can be confused with BBC One because Dragon's Den developed a broad mainstream audience. However, its original home was BBC Two. The programme's long run and changing panel of investors helped it remain recognisable even as scheduling and surrounding BBC programming evolved.
