Which BBC channel has traditionally broadcast the British business series Dragons' Den?

The story behind the answer

The British business series Dragons' Den has traditionally been broadcast on BBC Two.

The programme places entrepreneurs before a panel of wealthy investors, known as Dragons, who decide whether to offer money for a stake in a business. Its BBC Two home helped establish it as a prominent factual-entertainment programme rather than a conventional reality competition.

BBC Two has also carried many other factual and business programmes, which can cause confusion with BBC One, BBC Three or BBC Four. The channel assignment refers to the main British series, not every international adaptation of the Dragons' Den format.

The programme originated from the Japanese format Money Tigers and became one of the best-known business-pitch shows on British television. Other countries later produced their own local versions for different broadcasters.
