The UK television series Dragons' Den is broadcast on BBC Two.
The programme debuted on BBC Two in 2005 and became one of the channel's best-known factual entertainment formats. Entrepreneurs enter the den to present business ideas and seek investment from a panel of wealthy business people, known as Dragons.
BBC Two is distinct from BBC One, which is generally associated with the BBC's broadest mainstream audience. Dragons' Den has retained its BBC Two identity through changes in presenters, investors and production arrangements. The format is also separate from the similarly named international versions shown by other broadcasters.
The programme is sometimes confused with Dragon's Den in informal references, but the UK title officially uses the plural “Dragons' Den”. The apostrophe follows the plural noun because the den belongs to multiple Dragons. Related versions have appeared in countries including Canada, Ireland and Australia, but this question concerns the original UK BBC series.
