Imagine Dragons recorded “Warriors,” the first song designed for a League of Legends World Championship.

The American pop-rock band released “Warriors” as a single on September 18, 2014. It was created in collaboration with Riot Games for the 2014 World Championship and served as the event’s anthem. The song’s dramatic rock production and lyrics about building a future from nothing helped establish the tone of Worlds music.

“Warriors” began League of Legends’ tradition of releasing a dedicated World Championship song each year. It was written by Imagine Dragons members Dan Reynolds, Wayne Sermon, Ben McKee, and Daniel Platzman, alongside Josh Mosser and producer Alex da Kid.

The common confusion comes from later Worlds anthems. Against the Current performed “Legends Never Die” in 2017, while NewJeans performed “Gods” in 2023 and Linkin Park recorded “Heavy Is the Crown” for 2024. Those are separate songs in the series; “Warriors” belongs to Imagine Dragons and the 2014 championship.
