Which band performs the end-credit version of “Life Is a Highway” in Pixar's Cars?

Rascal Flatts performs the end-credit version of “Life Is a Highway” in Pixar's Cars.

The country music group recorded a new version of the song specifically for the film's soundtrack. Their upbeat performance accompanies the end credits and became one of the most recognizable musical elements associated with Cars. The song also appeared prominently in the film's marketing and soundtrack releases.

“Life Is a Highway” was originally written and recorded by Canadian musician Tom Cochrane in 1991. Rascal Flatts' version introduced the song to a new audience and reached number seven on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States. It also became a major country hit for the group.

The song fits Cars because its lyrics and driving rhythm reinforce the film's road-trip setting. It is important not to confuse the performers: Tom Cochrane originated the song, while Rascal Flatts recorded the version used with Cars.
