The Swedish hardcore punk band Refused represents the fictional group Samurai in Cyberpunk 2077.
Refused recorded the music performed in the game by Samurai, the influential chrome-rock band associated with Johnny Silverhand. The band’s songs include “Chippin’ In,” “Never Fade Away,” and “The Ballad of Buck Ravers.” Refused’s vocalist Dennis Lyxzén performs the vocals for the Samurai material, giving the fictional group a real-world musical identity.
Samurai is not simply a renamed version of Refused. In the game’s fiction, it was Johnny Silverhand’s band, with Kerry Eurodyne and other musicians among its members. The soundtrack also contains songs by other real artists performing under fictional in-world names, which can make the music credits easy to mix up.
