Cyberpunk 2077’s first major story quest after its opening prologue is “The Rescue.”
The quest introduces V and Jackie Welles as mercenaries working together in Night City. Their assignment is to rescue Sandra Dorsett, who has been kidnapped and placed in danger by human traffickers.
“The Rescue” functions as an early tutorial for combat, stealth, scanning, inventory management, and interaction with allies. Its opening location also introduces Watson and establishes the tone of the city before the larger central plot begins.
It is often confused with “The Heist,” the later Konpeki Plaza mission that brings the Relic into V’s story. “The Rescue” comes first in the main campaign, although the exact presentation of the opening sequence varies slightly with the chosen lifepath.
