Which award did Jean Smart win for Hacks at the 2026 Golden Globes?
Answer
Best Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy
Jean Smart won Best Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for Hacks at the 2026 Golden Globes.
Smart plays Deborah Vance, a veteran Las Vegas comedian who works with a younger comedy writer, in the HBO Max series Hacks. The show mixes workplace conflict, family tension, and sharp comedy with a long-running story about reinvention.
The Golden Globe category covers lead performances in television productions classified as musical or comedy. It is distinct from the drama acting categories, even though comedy series can contain serious or emotional storylines.
Smart had already become closely associated with the role before this ceremony, having received earlier major awards recognition for Hacks. Her 2026 win continued the series’ record of honoring its central performance.
