Which autobiography did Mahatma Gandhi write about his experiments with truth?
Answer
The Story of My Experiments with Truth
Answer
The Story of My Experiments with Truth
Mahatma Gandhi’s autobiography is The Story of My Experiments with Truth.
Gandhi wrote the work in Gujarati under the title Satya Na Prayogo, presenting it as a record of moral and spiritual experiments rather than a conventional political memoir. It first appeared serially in Gandhi’s journal Navajivan from 1925 to 1929.
The English version is commonly known as The Story of My Experiments with Truth. Gandhi discussed his childhood, education, years in South Africa, and evolving ideas about truth, nonviolence, diet, and self-discipline.
The book is not the same as Hind Swaraj, his 1909 critique of modern civilization and colonial rule. Hind Swaraj is a political-philosophical dialogue, not his autobiography.
