Winx won 33 consecutive races, including four Cox Plates.
The Australian mare began her winning streak in May 2015 and ended her career with victory in the 2019 Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Royal Randwick. Her sequence included major races such as the George Main Stakes, the Turnbull Stakes and the Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
Winx’s four Cox Plate victories came from 2015 through 2018, making her the only horse to win that weight-for-age championship four times. Her success was especially notable because the Cox Plate is run over 2,040 metres at Moonee Valley, a demanding circuit with a short straight.
Winx is sometimes confused with Black Caviar, another celebrated Australian mare. Black Caviar retired unbeaten after 25 races, but Winx established the longer overall winning streak and competed successfully at middle distances.
