Ksubi is the Australian jeans brand founded in 1999 by George Gorrow and Dan Single.
The label began in Sydney under the name Tsubi and became known for distressed denim, experimental styling, and a strong connection to Australia’s creative and surf culture. The founders were part of a group of designers and artists who helped give the brand an intentionally rebellious identity.
The company changed its name from Tsubi to Ksubi in the mid-2000s after a trademark dispute involving the earlier name. That change is a common source of confusion when people research the brand’s history. Ksubi’s designs have included heavily treated jeans, graphic clothing, and distinctive rear-pocket details.
Ksubi is separate from Australian labels such as Nobody Denim and Neuw Denim. Its appeal has often centred on a deliberately unconventional interpretation of premium streetwear and denim rather than traditional workwear.
