Connor is the Assassin’s Creed protagonist known by the birth name Ratonhnhaké:ton.
Ratonhnhaké:ton is a Kanien’kehá:ka man who adopts the name Connor during Assassin’s Creed III. He becomes an Assassin under the guidance of Achilles Davenport and takes part in the conflict surrounding the American Revolution.
Connor’s dual naming reflects his Indigenous heritage and his interactions with colonial society. “Connor” is the name he uses in much of the game’s public-facing life, while Ratonhnhaké:ton identifies his Kanien’kehá:ka origins. The two names refer to the same protagonist, not to separate characters.
Connor is the son of Haytham Kenway, who serves as the playable character in the game’s opening sequence and is aligned with the Templars. This family connection is one of Assassin’s Creed III’s central dramatic elements. Connor also appears in the game’s downloadable content, The Tyranny of King Washington.
